First off, when I’m in a cross-realm group, DPS meters seem to act weird. This morning mine said I was doing 2.6k DPS, but someone else reported their meter, and according to that one I was only doing 1.9k DPS? Whut? Is my own meter right?

Second question: I’m leveling a (frost) mage, she’s level 53 right now. In dungeons, I’m always the only one OOM. I get OOM very fast. I use Mage Armor, and I even have the Glyph. I use Blizzard a lot because things die fast when I do that :p I try to use my Mana Gem and Evocation efficiently, but still, I get OOM. And it just feels silly to ask for a Mana break when I’m not the healer? I try to drink whenever I can though, even if it’s only a few seconds.

Yesterday I asked the tank to wait (before Boss fight), mana break, and he said: you have 50%? and pulled. I have a priest, and with healing yeah, 50% should be fine (although I’d rather have full mana), but it’s totally different with DPS?

Is it because my mana pool is small? I know I’m not level 80 yet but it really bothers me. This is my armory. 3Leave a commentAdd to MemoriesTell a Friend shaman and fanart queries! 071107 January 27th, 9:01 good morning ladies!

three things…

1. have any of you submitted fanart to blizzard? if it’s not accepted, do they not let you know? if it is do they let you know?

2. i’ve been levelling my little baby shaman, she’s amazing, and i am obsessed. now she’s almost hitting outland, she’s passed the stage of alt-that-might-be-deleted and has now entered the realms of possible-new-main. she has duel spec, heals instances and bgs, levels with the awesomeness that is enhancement, has all professions levelled up and i’m so proud (i have a short attention span..-.-) my question is for, not complicated tips, but literally simple, dontbeanoob stuff. along the lines of - if you’re a pally tank, don’t bubble, hunters turn growl off, that sort of thing. theorycraftery i can figure out later.

end game she will be resto/enh, at the moment i use chain heal, lesser healing wave and healing wave with (the talent that makes it instant, can’t remember what it’s called) as it’s such a slow cast time and they usually die before i’m done casting. i miss my disc priest’s haste! x)

enhancement wise she’s running with two heirloom daggers that were meant for a rogue that i got bored of, and i’m using AP buff foods and stuff. i’m not paying a great deal of attention to intellect and such, by instinct, is that right? mana is never an issue, i love it!

I come to you lovely bunch for some advice. Until recently I was pretty happy with my Hunter. For the sake of my raid I switched to Marksman and obviously read up a lot on it.

However, I’m totally confused by now, especially about the gemming. Some guides say to go straight for ArP,buy wow gold, others tell you to stick with Agility. Then I read here that for some sockets Agi/Crit would be best. I’m at a loss. I gemmed straight Agi, all the way, and am wondering if I should completely change my sockets to ArP. I’m really bad with numbers, so some help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m raiding ICC 25 and 10 and my dps isn’t too bad, but I guess it could be better. I’m scratching the 5k dps usually, depending on the fight and how much movement is required. I have a cookie cutter MM specc and raid with a wolf. I stick to  the usual priorities, but am still using arcane shot. I guess I should optimize my cooldowns - do you use them all right at the beginning of a fight?

I just feel my huntress is not optimized and I’d like to tickle out more, especially if I see the other hunters doing more dps than me. (not by much, mind you, but still… they’re SV, though.)

I’m at work at the moment and access to the arsenal is blocked from here (grml…), but if you feel like looking me up, I’m Tanyanka - Elimination of Error on Kil’Jaeden, EU.

I’ve decided on leveling as frost and not really planning on picking up dual spec till 80 if I ever get her that high. I looked up some of the leveling builds on wowwiki, but they all seem incomplete… Not all the points allocated and no real substantial advice. So where do I go for DK leveling info? How can I be super awesome and have people go ‘omg, you’re not a failknight!’

Also… UI recommendations? And then I kept on starting new alts and deleting them and ad infinitum, but finally, today, after nine months, I got meself my first 80.

And of course now comes my slew of “what do you do at 80″ questions. If I want to raid do I just run heroics like crazy? I’ve been checking loot tables for heroics and pieces for enh shaman is pretty hard to come by. I went through several dungeons and nothing remotely mail dropped, and so do enh just have to grind until we got enough badges for tier gear? (Also I can’t roll on leather pieces, even though they had dropped and were an upgrade. :X) Doesn’t that get boring as heck? Are there other ways to get gear?

And if you don’t want to raid what else do people do? I’m scared that I’m gonna bench her and start another alt from scratch, or just randomly wander around Azeroth. I have a level 80 elemental shammy who is pretty well geared and wants to raid - ICC 10/25 and TOC 25. I’m in a raiding guild, but there is only one group who does ICC 25 every week and no one seems to want to lead another group. Does anyone happen to be in a decent raiding guild and have some spots available? I’m tired of feeling like I have to pug everything to get gear.

Er, if anyone at all is on Frostwolf alliance or Bloodhoof horde, feel free to let me know - I’d like some more wow friends and my paladin is all alone over on Bloodhoof US since my boyfriend never plays his warlock on there and I don’t really know anyone. A horse named Invincible is starting to get a lot of attention. However, despite being present for some very important moments in Christie Golden’s Arthas novel (and being a massively important thematic presence throughout), someone who hasn’t read that novel will be left in the dark as to why we’re supposed to care about this horse and why it has a theme song.

I put together a primer for those who have not read Golden’s book that discusses the two thematic drivers she established for Arthas. This will hopefully help explain why Invincible is important, whether absent or present at any given moment in his life.

I also went meta about the other thematic driver, since they trade off in being a motivating factor.

Also, I drew some stupid pictures, so that’s always fun!

I posted it on my personal journal rather than here, as I do use a lot of blockquotes to cite the novel and I find the default LJ comment pages to be difficult to distinguish blockquotes within.

As a result, I’ve been playing for almost two years, but am only now getting close to 60 on my main. Part of my recent burst in leveling is that I have a leveling buddy who keeps me on my toes, and she makes things go a lot quicker.

Since I’m almost at 60, she and I have been discussing Outland; Hellfire Peninsula in particular, since that’s our first stop.

And, of course, that conversation drifted toward everyone’s all-time favorite buddy, the Fel Reaver. I know damn well that I’m going to end up dealing with them, and the thought scares the hell out of me. I hate dying, and I hate surprises, so these guys are probably going to be the bane of my existence.

Then, I remembered wowitemcreator.com, and I had an awesome idea for a new piece of gear.

Really myself (Priest) and the druids are over geared for heroics now so the tank thought it would be fun to see if he could get me to go OOM with chain pulls (just for clarification I was Disc spec at the time, though Holy is my ‘main’ spec, so I’m geared better for it..).

Early on it was quite evident, not going to past 80% mana, that he wasn’t going to make me go oom. So he settled for 40%. Then.. 50%. Now at the end of this run, with the huge giants and the whirlwind attacking dwarves, my poor fiance does bite the dust, twice. But still, I did not go under 50%. But boy… healing got to be a challenge. It was bloody FUN!

Now I did get to 39% on the Loken (plus a few adds) because of his aoe damage and I threw out a couple of costly PoH. But damn.. it was just so much fun! Of course the boomkin and pally were constantly complaining about not having mana, and the lock kept life tapping lol… but really, it was great. We apologized to the lock at the end and we was like… THAT WAS AWESOME XD!

Next I want to try that as Holy.. I have a feeling that I might go much more oom then as Disc.

So Healers! Next time you’re bored with your Heroics, grab some guildies and try it out. It’s much fun! Though I do not recommend using OK for this.. >_>.

And my question… I’ve decided that I want to make a blog about Priest healing and am having a little difficulty in thinking of a clever name. I’m going to talk about Disc and Holy healing, so I want a title that would be acceptable to both. All I have come up with is Priest’s Inner Fire. Obviously I LOVE using talent/spell names :D.

My boyfriend and I have a guild for our alts for purposes of the guild bank and easy access to mats while leveling and leveling professions. The problem is, he cancelled his account about two weeks ago (I had no idea until about 2 days after he cancelled), and his character is still the guild master. This leaves me without the ability to add guild bank tabs or do any guild maintenance (like reinviting my characters that may join another guild for awhile).

Does anyone know… if I open a petition and explain this, can a GM transfer ownership of the guild to one of my characters, or will they say “tough luck” basically (maybe it crosses some sort of line of what they will and won’t do with guilds and guild leadership - basically to cover their own tracks against false “give me the guild” ploys or something). Bye! 6Leave a commentAdd to MemoriesTell a Friend WoW — how I missed thee… witchylatina January 26th, 14:22 Current Location:60625Current Mood: cheerfulSo the economy sucks and I had to make some sacrifices — WoW was one of the things I gave up.  But then I started to dream about it.  I would dream that I was in the Un’Goro Crater looking for blue crystals and piles of dirt. I had the UC dream for many nights until I had to go back on and re-activate my account.  I wish I had dreamt of prettier places but the UC brought me back to WoW.

I’m back on and happy as can be when I found I could by a flying mount.  I went straight to the Honor Hold to buy it and I was flying around on my mount.  Then I realized I didn’t know how to get off!!!  Somewhere above Hellfire Peninsula I dismounted in mid-air.  I drifted slowly down to the ground and then about 3 feet from the ground I dropped dead. It was funny to watch. I had to fly at low levels to finally get the hang of flying. 

I finally dinged level 70 and now working hard to finish my exploration quests.

My question is have any of you gotten the old school raiding bug thinking some of these instances might go away in Cata? Which ones are your favorites or least favorites and why?

(Personally I love ZG because it just feels nice in there with all the trolls and the trees.)

Since two old raids have become new raids, are you guys hoping that more of them are updated? Are you excited about the possibility of a level 85 Molten Core? Or have you had enough of the revival and hope they leave the old ones alone?

This has been a question that’s on my mind lately. What the heck to do with my Frost badges? I have about 64-65 of them currently, and I’m banking on getting a Frost piece, not downgrading. The question I’ve just been wondering is, what the heck should I get, if anything at all yet?

Also, after my earlier post, I saw that I was accepted into the raiding guild. When the officers are around today, I’m going to have a long talk with them. They already told me that I’m behind on the curve a bit and will benefit from ToC runs with them before they’ll let me into ICC, fair and fine by me.

So, I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch on if I’ll even stay with the guild and be able to get frost badges regularly. I have it installed as an add-on and sometimes it says that Item A has a higher GS than Item B, but Item B gives me better stats (Spell Power, Spirit) and less armor and a lower item level then Item A, so therefore it gets a lower GS? I typically just ignore GS and go for what I see as the better piece of equipment. I think GearScore is stupid. T_T

I’m an Affliction Warlock w/ Fel Armor, btw.

And I’ve come to the conclusion that “vanilla” WoW means the Classic WoW, but where did “vanilla” come from?

We’ve been around for years now, and I think we’ve garnered a reputation as being an elite crack squadron of grizzled raiders. In fact, here are some of our outstanding accomplishments:

But do not be afraid! You too can join our fighting forces, as we’re looking for a warlock, elemental shaman, DPS warrior, and DPS DK. If you’re awesome and nice and not one of those classes, you’re also welcome to apply. We currently raid 25 mans on Tuesday, Thursday, and Monday from 6-9pm PST. We do 10 mans in a variety of content 2-3 days a week. On 25s we are 6/9 in ICC. We’ve got Professor Putricide down to ~5%, and just need a few friends to kick him over the top.

Of course, you need to be hardcore to join a hardcore guild like MCats. You should have attributes like: being nice! being a mature adult! having ICC-ready gear! being prepared and skilled at raiding and not wanting to waste people’s time!

One of them has a toon name that I have always envied, though it’s not earthshatteringly unique or anything, Wardancer. So that got me to thinking about toon names and why we pick em and what they mean, etc etc.

Here are some of mine…

Violaceous - NE druid with purple hair. I also like that the abbreviation of her name is Vio.
Zamyr - BE death knight. Randomly put together. It sounded vaguely evil, yet prissy.
Kaikoru - tauren druid. It’s a location in New Zealand (where I am hoping to go this year) and it sounded mystical.
Visenya - BE hunter. It’s the name of a warrior woman in A Song Of Ice And Fire’s history. I know, wrong class.
Luciva - BE warlock. Lucifer… but different.
Alrescha - Draenei shaman. It’s the name of a star so I thought it appropriately spacey.
